Fish were tough but the comradere and fellowship were over the top!
Brother Steve and I fished a stretch of mountain river that has been on my list for 20 years. In it's upper reaches, it is a trout stream (somewhere in the South East) we love to fish but in its lower reaches, it hosts a population of pure strain Red Eye (aka Coosa) bass. This bass is almost like a cross between a smallmouth and a spot. It is small (a 2lb is a big'n), pretty, fights hard, loves top water baits, and one of my favorite fish on planet Earth. We floated 6.5 miles and lost count of the fish. The scenery was top notch, the fish were agreeable, and the weather was cool for July.
